Ponnhil And Mardi Himal is a classic and moderate trek of Annapurna Region. It is a perfect trek to explore the Annapurna Mountains including Mt Annapurna I (8091m) and Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) which are 10th and 7th highest mountain of the world and also to explore some old villages of gurung and Magar ethnic.This trek starts from the altitude of 1070m and it leads up to 4500 m high above the sea level.

Trip Itineraries

Day 1 - Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus(800m) 6-8 hrs

Early morning drive to Pokhara by tourist bus. It will take around 6-7 hours but it depends upon the road condition. On a way we will pass through some villages of central Nepal with beautiful landscapes of high hills, mountains and rivers. Overnight at hotel near to lake side.

Day 2 - Drive till nayapool (1070m) by jeep and same day trek till tikhedhunga(1540m) 5h of trek

Early morning after breakfast drive to Nyapool via Naudanda, kande and Lumle. It will take around one hour. After Nayapool we will start the trek following modi khila. We will pass through some beautiful villages like Birenthanti, Sudame , Hile before reaching to our destination Tikhedhunga. Today the trail is simple as there are no steep climbs. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 3 - Tikhedhuna to Ghorepani(2880m) 6hrs of trek

Today it will be a physical day, there are lots of up hills and downhills through the stairs. After crossing the suspension bridge of village we will start to go upwards through the stairs till Ulleri. Ulleri is a small village on the top of mountain. We will have first glance of Mt Annapurna south from Ulleri. After ulleri the trial continues through the forest crossing the villages like Banthanti and Nangethanti before arriving to our destination Ghorepani.

Day 4 - Early morning hike till poonhill(3210m) for sunrise and same day trek till Tadapani (2630m). 5h30 min.

Poonhill is a famous destination for early morning sunrise and for the panoramic view of huge mountains of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri area. The day starts early in the morning to catch up the sunrise at Poonhill. The trial is mostly upwards through the stairs and likely for one hour. From Poon hill we will have the panoramic view of Mt Annapurna south (7219m), Mt Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt Fishtail (6993m), Mt Nilgiri(7061m),Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) and many more peaks. After sunrise we will head back to Ghorepani and continue our trek to Tadapani. From Ghorepani to Tadapani there are both uphills and downhills. we will be climbing for hour to reach at the top near to Deutrali and continue to descend till Banthanti. After Banthati trail leads through the rhododendron Forest and will descend for few minutes and start to climb steep for 40 mins before reaching to our destination Tadapani. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 5 - Tadapani to landruk (1565m) via Ghandruk 6 hrs

Today the trial is mostly downhill. We will start to descend inside the rhododendron forest and other species of plants till we reach to Ghadruk. Ghandruk is a beautiful village with the majority of people living here are of Gurung ethnics.  After Ghandruk we will continue to descend till the modi khola with the beautiful landscapes of paddy fields, terrace farming and Annapurna Mountains.  After crossing the suspension bridge we will start to climb steep for few hours till we reach to our destination Landruk.
Landruk is a beautiful village of Kaski district with majority of people living here are of Gurung ethnics. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 6 - landruk to Badal Danda(3210m) 6 hrs

Today the trial is mostly uphill. We will start to climb steep inside dense forest till we reach to Forest Camp. Till forest camp the trail are steep and difficult in some part.  After forest camp we will continue to climb little steep in some parts  mostly through stairs and  inside the rhododendron forest. we will cross  rest camp and low camp before arriving to our destination Badal Danda.

Badal Danda is in a beautiful spot from where we will have a stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli , Machhapuchre and the ridge of Mardi Himal. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 7 - Badal danda to high camp (3580m) 3-4 hrs

Today as well the trial is mostly uphill but not steep. We will have a marvelous view of Annapurna Mountains. After a few hours of climbing through open valley we will reach to our destination High Camp. This is the last stop for all the trekkers as there are no hotels further. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 8 - Hike to Mardi basecamp and trek back to badal danda (3210m) 7 hrs

Today we will start our day early morning to catchup the sunrise at Tuesday view point which is 3 hrs of walk from high camp. After the sunrise we will continue to climb till we reach to Mardi Bade Camp (4500m). It's the highest elevation of our trek. From view point we will have the stunning views of Annapurna South(7219m) , Hiunchuli(6441m), Annapurna I(8091m) tenth highest mountains of the world, Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7425m) and some more peaks. After visiting we will descend till Highcamp and continue to descend till Badal Danda. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 9 - Badal danda to Siding(1280m) 4 hrs and same day drive to pokhara(800m) 2 hrs

Early morning we will descend till Siding, it will take around 4 hrs. The trial is mostly downhill and little steep is some area. After few hours of descent we will arrive to Siding and from Siding we will drive to Pokhara via Lumle. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 10 - drive to Kathmandu by bus 7 hrs

Early morning drive to Kathmandu by tourist bus. On a way we will pass through some beautiful villages of Tanahaun and dhading district. on a way we will have a last glance of Annapurna mountains before arriving to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Discuss and brief about the trek and verify all your trekking equipment’s

to ensure you have all the important gears. And will help you to buy the missing gears.

How many kg Maximum for porter?

W provide 1 porter for two clients. so,the maximum weight is 8-10 kg per person.

We provide duffle bags for each member to carry during the trek as duffle bags are easy to transfer.

First Aid kit

We carry normal stuffs like bandages, creams and paracetamols but we don't provide any medicines to our guest as we are not licensed. We provide just normal first aid kit and  request you to carry all your personal medicines.

Emergency Rescue

We request all our clients to bring or send us your travel insurance papers for the emergency evacuations. We help to provide the quick helicopter service if anything occur during the trek.


This Package dosesn’t include Kathmandu meals and soft beverages like tea and coffee.

During the trip 

we provide three time meals every day(breakfast, lunch and dinner)

soft beverages like tea/coffee/hot lemon/ginger tea 3-4 cups a day.

 fruit desserts and soups every day.  

And if you wants to take extra foods and drinks than its on you. It doesn’t include in package.




This package doesn’t include Kathmandu Hotels but If you want us to manage at Kathmandu than we do manage hotels as per your demand.

During the trip every day you will be sleeping inside the good and furnished hotels. Rooms might not be same everyday when you trek in higher altitude. But our guides will manage better one for you.


This package doesn’t include the transportation service inside Kathmandu valley except airport pick and drop up.

We will use comfortable and deluxe tourist bus for both ways Kathmandu to Pokhara and Pokhara to Kathmandu.
